Vitamin K

Vitamin K is important for the formation of prothrombin and other factors necessary for blood clotting. Patients on anticoagulant therapy (commandantine) should avoid eating foods rich in vitamin K. In addition, it plays an important role in bone formation and renal function. Chronic vitamin K deficiency is associated with poor ossification and poor bone plating problems (osteoporosis), as well as bleeding episodes. It responds in two ways:

K1 is found in many foods, such as dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, broccoli, cabbage), soybean oil and olive oil.
K2 is produced by intestinal bacteria.

Meet vitamin K and its usefulness in the reduction of fractures, in skin flexibility, in fighting arthritis and in the reduction of wrinkles. Vitamin K helps prevent osteoporosis, reinforces the bones and improves skin quality. Vitamin K is a hydro soluble vitamin which plays a vital role in blood coagulation. It contributes to skeletal health, as it facilitates calcium deposition on the bones. Our body produces it by itself, but in most cases the quantity is not enough to cover the body’s needs.
